Birth Of A Nation: The Makriyannis Memoirs

The Memoirs of General Makriyannis has already been presented with great success in several Greek communities across the globe and serves, amongst others, as a popular choice for Greek War of Independence annual celebrations, from February through April.

The Reading/Performance lasts approximately 90 minutes and is presented in Greek, with optional PowerPoint projection of the entire text in English, or in the desired native language.

Show/Venue Requirements:

  • A theatre or facility with adequate theatrical lighting
  • A reliable sound system, and a lavaliere (lapel) microphone
  • A large table stage center, folding or otherwise; an antique settee and an antique wooden armchair, if available
  • A musician’s stand with light, and a plain chair or stool
  • A large on-stage screen and a projector for the PowerPoint images. A second screen and projector may be required, if the text is to be available in another language
  • Two to three technicians (sound, lights, PowerPoint), who must be present during rehearsal and performances
